Holidays are lovely

Came back from 3 weeks holidays last weekend. We had a fantastic time in Czech. We rented a wonderful house with swimmingpool, close to the Polish border. So we visited both Polish and Czech towns. We also went to Prague for 3 days (booked a hotel 300 meters from the Charles Bridge) and this capital city was just as astonishing as it was 17 years ago when Chris and I went there together.
We did many nice things, visited a zoo (entrance 9 euro for us 4!), climbingparks, towns, mountains, a bunker from WW2, summer rodelbahn, had some tasty meals, etc.
I read a couple of books, played badminton, baseball and tried to swim everyday. I have driven in the mud with a quad (that rhymes), drank Pivo (beer) for 50 cents and listened to the most beautiful accordion music live on the Charles Bridge at night!

Ondanks het koude, natte weer hebben oma, Joost en ik een hele leuke dag gehad in de dierentuin van Emmen. Het blijft interessant, die dierenwereld. Ik heb weer veel geleerd en gezien. Bijvoorbeeld de grootste Aziatische olifant in Europa! Hij heeft slagtanden van ruim 2 meter en weegt zelf ongeveer 7200 kilo! Eén drol van deze reus weegt zo'n 25 kilo. Je zal maar poepschepper zijn! Er waren ook veel jongen geboren, bij de elanden, de giraffen, de olifanten en de zebra's. We moeten toch maar weer eens zo'n jaarkaart halen, zoals we een poos geleden hadden. Dan gingen we 's middags uit school nog "even" naar Burgers Zoo. Naar het aquarium of de bush. Dan waan je je toch even in de tropen. Alleen al voor die warme temperatuur zou je het doen!
